No Lasik for me…I have Keratoconus! Version 2

December 26th, 2009 by lasik

I just found out recently I have an eye disease called Keratoconus. I can not have Lasik surgery because of this disease. Watch my video to find out a little bit more about Keratoconus! Watch the end of the video for information about my cat, Phoebe! She’s a large breed, long hair, fabulous girl!

Hi. My brother in-law has this disease and its so severe he has to have surgery within 2 years for a corneal transplant (and not to scare you but your eyes can actually burst from coning so much) and he has to have special contacts. Its so bad without his contacts he has to put things like a cell phone, newspaper, or even get close to the tv to see whats going on. he was diagnosed when he was 21 and he is now 23. Thank you for posting a video about this.

You should get Corneal Cross-Linking done, it halts the progression of Keratoconus and sometimes reverses it a little bit. Look it up and ask your doc about it.
